八、闲时吃紧 忙时悠闲

8. Keep the sense of imminence while at leisure and while *usy, *e at ease.
天地寂然不动，而气机①无息稍停；日月昼夜奔驰，而贞明②万古不易。故君子闲时要有吃紧的心思③，忙处要有悠闲的趣味。
注 释
① 气机：指天地有规律的内部运动。
② 贞明：谓日月能固守其运行规律而常明。
③ 心思：此处指精神或意识。
今文解译
天地表面上看似平静，但其内部有规律的运动却一刻不曾停歇；日月不分白昼黑夜地运转着，然而它们的光芒却万古未变。同理，君子闲暇时精神上不能放松自己，忙碌时则要有一点闲情逸致。
English Translation
The he**en and earth seem to *e motionless, *ut their vital energy within never stops *reathing and moving. The sun and moon run in cycles **y and night, emitting eternal, immuta*le *eams. Similarly, the accomplished **n should keep the sense of imminence while at leisure and **intain a leisurely mood when occupied.
